The position involves operating manual transmission roll-off trucks and servicing customer locations while maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate a Class B CDL hook truck on assigned routesDeliver, exchange, and retrieve hook-lift containers at customer locations and disposal facilitiesLoad and unload containers using the truck's hook-lift systemPerform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulationsSecure containers properly and follow all company and DOT safety standardsUse a tablet-based system to manage routes, logs, and required documentationCommunicate effectively with dispatch and customersMaintain safe driving practices at all times, including the use of onboard safety technologyPhysical and Working ConditionsApplicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation:Frequent climbing in and out of the truck cabLifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing 50 pounds or moreWorking outdoors in varying weather conditionsExposure to noise, vibration, fumes, and moving mechanical partsAdherence to strict safety procedures at all timesMinimum QualificationsValid Class B Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsementExperience operating manual transmission vehicles (10, 13, or 18-speed)Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experienceExperience operating hook-lift trucks preferredAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in English for safety and job-related tasksHigh school diploma or GED preferredSafety Sensitive: YESTo be considered for any of our current openings, you must complete an application at www.careers.wasteconnections.com. Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement (experience)
  • Experience operating manual transmission vehicles (10, 13, or 18-speed) (experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience (experience, 2 years)
  • Experience operating hook-lift trucks preferred (experience)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English for safety and job-related tasks (experience)
  • High school diploma or GED preferred (experience)
  • Safety Sensitive: YES (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class B CDL hook truck on assigned routes
  • Deliver, exchange, and retrieve hook-lift containers at customer locations and disposal facilities
  • Load and unload containers using the truck's hook-lift system
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations
  • Secure containers properly and follow all company and DOT safety standards
