Job Description
Anson County Landfill in Polkton, NC has an immediate opening for a safety-minded Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in maintaining equipment and helping keep our drivers and communities safe.What You'll DoPerform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and equipment.Repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.Utilize vehicle diagnostic software to identify and resolve issues.Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).Complete maintenance documentation using fleet software.Test drive equipment after repairs.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Assist team members and perform other duties as assigned.What We're Looking ForMinimum 2 years of experience required performing diesel equipment diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance.Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.Basic mechanic tool set.Class B CDL, preferred but not requiredHydraulic experience is a plus.What We OfferCompetitive pay401(k) with company matchMedical, Dental, and Vision insuranceLife and Disability insuranceEmployee Stock Purchase PlanEmployee Assistance ProgramScholarship opportunities for childrenEmployee Relief Fund and additional employee perksJoin a company that values safety, teamwork, and career growth while making a difference in the communities we serve.Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience required performing diesel equipment diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance. (experience, 2 years)
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment. (experience)
- Basic mechanic tool set. (experience)
- Class B CDL, preferred but not required (experience)
- Hydraulic experience is a plus. (experience)
Responsibilities
