Southern Oregon Sanitation, in Grants Pass, OR has an immediate position open for a Diesel Lube Tech to perform preventative maintenance on our fleet of garbage trucks..Full-Time: 4/10 Schedule, Wednesday – Saturday, 7:00am – 4:30pm (Occasional OT as needed).COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION: Starting pay at $26.94/hr Annual Safety Bonus $$Generous Paid Time Off + Paid HolidaysCustomizable Benefits Package: Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, Wellness Programs, and more401(k) with Company MatchCompany-Paid Life InsuranceGrowth opportunities- We pride ourselves on promoting from within.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Help to assist with repairs including but are not limited to, routine preventative maintenance and repairing engines, chassis, body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, and wheels/tires.Inspects equipment and/or trucks for condition, operations, parts and fluid levels, differentials, final drives, pump drives, and hubs.Knowledge of Hydraulics repair is a plus!Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.Performs required safety protocols while working on vehicles.Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks..WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair.Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time; Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position.Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Required Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Required) (experience)
  • 1+ year of DIESEL lube tech or diesel maintenance experience (or completion of diesel tech program) (experience, 1 years)
  • Provide Personal Tools. (experience)
  • Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair. (experience)
  • Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information in English (experience)
  • Basic knowledge of truck systems and hydraulics a plus (experience)
  • Ability to follow directions, work safely, and learn quickly (experience)

Responsibilities
