Landfill Gas Systems Manager (RNG)Location: Champ Landfill, St. Louis, MissouriCompensation: $110,000 - $120,000 base salary + 10%-15% annual cash bonus + 10%-15% annual RSU award (target total compensation up to $140,000, based on experience)Who We AreAt Waste Connections, we're more than just one of North America's leading waste services companies. This role offers the opportunity to work at one of the industry's most advanced landfill gas recovery facilities while partnering with landfill leadership, engineers, consultants, and renewable energy developers to maximize performance and sustainability.Champ Landfill is a leader in innovation and environmental stewardship. With our Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facility beginning operations in 2026, this is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on one of the region's premier landfill gas-to-energy operations.Why Join Us?Culture: A workplace where empowered, self-directed professionals know their work matters.Innovation: Help lead and optimize a state-of-the-art Renewable Natural Gas facility.Growth: Opportunities to develop professionally and advance within Engineering, Environmental, and Operations leadership.Impact: Play a critical role in environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, landfill gas recovery, and renewable energy production.QualificationsBachelor's or Associate Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Sciences, or a related field preferredDirect work experience in the majority of the following areas:Several years supervising and developing one (1) or more direct reportsGCCS and/or control device (flares) monitoring and maintenanceGas processing, compression, and combustion equipment operation and maintenanceGCCS monitoring, data evaluation and wellfield optimizationEnvironmental site inspections/audits, assessments, and remediationConstruction quality assurance on heavy civil or earthwork projectsStrong leadership, project coordination, and contractor management skillsComputer proficiency including Microsoft Office, environmental reporting systems, and AI tools for data analyticsResponsibilitiesLead a team of Technicians and Operators to manage the GCCS to maximize gas capture and maintain regulatory complianceDirect renewable energy developer(s) and contractors to ensure performance expectations are met while maximizing financial returns to Waste ConnectionsEnsure landfill gas systems, leachate collection systems, and stormwater discharges remain compliant with all Federal, State, and local regulationsPerform routine monitoring, inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on landfill gas systems, pumps, and dewatering equipmentMaintain electronic reporting systems, compliance databases, and field monitoring instrumentsDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with landfill operations personnel, consultants, contractors, regulators, and renewable energy developersSupport landfill environmental reviews, audits, permitting activities, and compliance inspectionsAssist the Region Engineer with planning and execution of environmental, infrastructure, and construction projectsProvide technical guidance and field support to other Waste Connections business units within the divisionTrack system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support landfill gas optimization initiativesWork outdoors in all weather conditions and maintain flexibility to respond to operational and compliance needs as requiredWe Keep Our Promises!At Waste Connections, we believe in empowering our employees. Required Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Technicians and Operators to manage the GCCS to maximize gas capture and maintain regulatory compliance
  • Direct renewable energy developer(s) and contractors to ensure performance expectations are met while maximizing financial returns to Waste Connections
  • Ensure landfill gas systems, leachate collection systems, and stormwater discharges remain compliant with all Federal, State, and local regulations
  • Perform routine monitoring, inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on landfill gas systems, pumps, and dewatering equipment
  • Maintain electronic reporting systems, compliance databases, and field monitoring instruments
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with landfill operations personnel, consultants, contractors, regulators, and renewable energy developers
  • Support landfill environmental reviews, audits, permitting activities, and compliance inspections
  • Assist the Region Engineer with planning and execution of environmental, infrastructure, and construction projects
  • Provide technical guidance and field support to other Waste Connections business units within the division
