Required Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. (experience)
• Clean driving record (please bring a copy of your MVR to the in-person interview) (experience)
• Ability to operate 10-, 13-, and 18-speed transmissions (preferred, not required) (experience)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant driving experience (experience, 1 years)
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English (experience)

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste. Waste experience is preferred but not required.
• Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
• Perform a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading, sometimes without assistance.
• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
• Interact courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
• Requires extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
• Work environment involves exposure to physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts, requiring basic safety precautions.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including frequent wet and/or humid environments, as well as fumes and vibrations.
