Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of gas systems and/or leachate removal systems operations experience is preferred (experience, 5 years)
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel/Word and the ability to learn and use company specialized applications (experience)
  • Excellent mechanical and technical aptitude (experience)
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operation (experience)
  • Willingness to relocate for promotional opportunities (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the installation and maintenance of landfill gas and leachate collection and control systems that support a High BTU landfill gas plant, including the supervision and direction of technicians, operators, and contractors
  • Plan, install, and maintain stormwater and leachate systems in a timely and cost-effective manner to ensure regulatory compliance and optimize performance
  • Collect and manage data entry of daily operations, materials, and equipment used
  • Operate and maintain liquid management system pneumatic or electric driven pumps
  • Use Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) piping materials and associated equipment to perform maintenance on piping materials
  • Supervise gas technicians/operators and contractors; delegate work assignments (approximately 40%)
  • Train gas technicians/operators on GCCS and leachate systems operations and maintenance activities; mentor and evaluate technician proficiency
  • Provide project management support to management for GCCS and leachate systems design and construction
  • Participate in the development of LFG-related capital and expense budgets
  • Be available for on-call response (physically on site or by phone as required) to GCCS-related malfunction events
  • Manage GCCS, leachate, and stormwater infrastructure projects from planning through execution
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal operations teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
  • Monitor project costs, schedules, and resource utilization and provide regular project updates to management
  • Support permitting, regulatory compliance, and environmental reporting activities related to landfill gas, leachate, and stormwater systems
  • Lead and coordinate GCCS, leachate, and stormwater system design, construction, maintenance, and improvement projects in partnership with landfill leadership and contractors
