Key takeaways
- Infosys does not publish a resume format, a template, or Systems Engineer eligibility on its public careers pages. Anything calling itself “the official Infosys resume format” is someone else’s template.
- Freshers usually enter in one of three roles: Systems Engineer (SE), Digital Specialist Engineer (DSE) or Specialist Programmer (SP). The same resume goes into all three, but the interview depth differs sharply.
- In 2026 reports, SE interviews were short (10–15 minutes) and covered your projects and internship. DSE and SP panels “grilled” candidates on every word of the resume.
- Use one page: education with exact marks, skills you can defend, 2–3 projects with your own part, coding profile, then certifications. Remove any line you cannot talk about for three minutes.
- Infosys says it onboarded more than 20,000 freshers in FY26 and expects a similar number in FY27, so this is still a large hiring pipeline.
Search “Infosys resume for freshers” and the results are YouTube videos, Scribd uploads, a Slideshare deck and resume builders. Several state eligibility rules as if Infosys published them. It does not, at least not on its public site. This guide separates what Infosys itself says, linked at the foot, from what 2026 candidates reported, and labels each.
What Infosys actually publishes about fresher hiring
We read Infosys’s graduate, HackWithInfy, Power Programmers and recruitment-fraud pages on 30 September 2026. Here is everything on them that affects your resume.
| Topic | What Infosys says | What it means for your resume |
|---|---|---|
| Hiring volume | Onboarded more than 20,000 freshers in FY26 and expects to hire a similar number in FY27 | A mass pipeline. Most candidates are screened by a test first, then a short interview. |
| Specialist Programmer hiring | Four steps: registration, coding rounds, “hands-on LIVE coding interviews with technologists”, then final selects | Your coding profile and projects are what the technologist reads before the live round. |
| What a Power Programmer is | “Full-stack and polyglots”, “foundationally strong on data structures and algorithms”; a selection ratio under 0.5% | For SP, lead with DSA evidence and depth in one stack, not a long skills list. |
| Stacks Infosys names | Microservices (Java, .Net, Spring Boot), data engineering (Spark, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Python), AI engineering (ML, deep learning), full stack and Kubernetes | If you know one of these well, name it and show a project in it. |
| HackWithInfy 2026 | For engineering students graduating in 2027. Qualifier Round 1 (virtual) in March 2026, Round 2 (face to face) in April 2026, Grand Finale in November 2026. Offers pre-placement interviews for SP and other specialised roles. | A strong HWI round is one of the few resume lines Infosys itself says can lead to an interview. |
| Recruitment fraud | Never charges fees; at least one interview (virtual or in person); no interviews on instant-messaging apps; recruiters write from @infosys.com | Never pay anyone to “forward” your resume to Infosys. |
Systems Engineer vs DSE vs Specialist Programmer: what each resume should lead with
Candidates describe a ladder. Most sit the Systems Engineer test; those selected can take an “upgrade” coding exam for DSE and SP levels. One 2026 candidate, selected as SE in November 2025, took the upgrade test in December and was selected as SP L1 in February 2026. Pay figures below are reported, not published by Infosys.
| Role | How candidates got in (2026 reports) | What the interview used the resume for | Lead your resume with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Systems Engineer (SE) | Aptitude test with 7 sections (quant, verbal, reasoning, technical, pseudo-code, puzzle, essay), each with a sectional cut-off; then a 10–15 minute interview | A brief look at your internship and project, plus communication | Clean education details, one project you can explain simply, and clear English throughout |
| Digital Specialist Engineer (DSE) | Coding OA (on campus or as an upgrade), then a technical interview of about 40 minutes, sometimes a second with a senior lead | Java, Spring Boot, OOP, exceptions and project questions “related to my projects and technologies mentioned in my resume” | One stack you know well (for example Java + Spring Boot + SQL) and a project built on it end to end |
| Specialist Programmer (SP L1–L3) | Coding rounds of 3–4 problems (easy to hard) over about 3 hours, or HackWithInfy; then live-coding interviews | A deep dive into one project, system design (CAP theorem, a WhatsApp HLD), DBMS, and every tool named | Coding ratings or HWI rank, an algorithm-heavy or system-level project, and only the tools you can defend |
You usually send one resume, so build it for the highest role you are realistically aiming at. An SE interviewer will not mind a strong coding profile. A DSE or SP interviewer will mind a skills list you cannot back up.
The one-page Infosys fresher resume format, section by section
- Header. Name exactly as on your marksheets and ID, phone, a professional email, city, LinkedIn and GitHub or portfolio. Leave out photo, date of birth, religion and marital status unless the application form itself asks. Check that every link opens; a Feb 2026 interviewer opened a candidate’s portfolio during the interview.
- Education. Degree, branch, college, year of passing and CGPA, then class 12/Diploma and class 10 with percentages. Use the same figures you enter in the application form. If you have a gap year, give it one line with what you did.
- Technical skills. Group them: languages, frameworks, databases, tools and cloud. Put the language you want to be interviewed in first. Every item is a potential question, so cut anything you only watched a tutorial on.
- Projects (2–3). For each: the problem in one line, the stack, and one or two lines on what you personally built or decided. Add a number you can defend, such as users, latency or dataset size. In a Sep 2026 DSE/SP interview the lead asked the candidate to “choose one of my projects” and then went into architecture and design choices.
- Coding profile. LeetCode, CodeChef or Codeforces rating, or problems solved, and any HackWithInfy round you cleared. Only write a number you can live up to: a Sep 2026 candidate who wrote a problem count, then missed an easy question, faced several more DSA questions.
- Internships. Company, dates, and what you shipped. SE interviews in 2026 were reported to ask about it briefly; DSE/SP panels went further.
- Certifications and achievements. Cloud certificates, hackathons, GATE, relevant courses. Keep the list short; each one can become a question.
Every line is a question: what 2026 Infosys interviewers asked from resumes
We read five first-hand Infosys reports from 2026: an SE-to-SP upgrade (Medium, 14 Feb), an SP/DSE on-campus OA (LeetCode, 23 Jan), a HackWithInfy pre-placement interview (LeetCode, 4 Aug), a DSE/SP two-round interview (LeetCode, 3 Sep) and a DSE/SP on-campus interview (LeetCode, 9 Sep). They are individual accounts, not a survey, but the pattern is consistent: the resume sets the agenda.
| On the resume | What was asked | Report |
|---|---|---|
| Projects | Choose one; then technologies used, implementation decisions, architecture and the reasoning behind each choice | DSE/SP, Sep 2026; SP L1, Feb 2026 |
| Java / Spring Boot | Java 8, OOP concepts, exception handling, Spring Boot fundamentals | DSE/SP, Sep 2026 |
| AWS, Docker, RAG, vector databases | “Grilled me on every word”: basic definitions of each, then scenarios such as troubleshooting a server connection and keeping a human in the loop for agents | DSE/SP on campus, Sep 2026 |
| Problems solved on coding sites | A string problem on paper, then more DSA (subsequences, product of array except self, longest substring without repeats) | DSE/SP on campus, Sep 2026 |
| ML metrics named in a project | Precision, recall and F1 score | SP L1, Feb 2026 |
| Favourite subject (DBMS) | SQL queries, normalisation and its types, keys, transactions | DSE/SP, Sep 2026 |
| Portfolio link | The interviewer opened it and LinkedIn, then asked for the best of three projects | SP L1, Feb 2026 |
Check your resume lines against 2026 Infosys interview questions
Paste your skills and project lines below. The checker matches them against the questions candidates reported in 2026 and shows what to prepare for each. If you cannot answer the questions for a line, prepare them or take the line out.
Six resume mistakes that cost Infosys candidates
- Tool lists you can’t define. DSE and SP panels asked for basic definitions of every tool named, from Docker to vector databases.
- Inflated coding claims. A problem count or rating invites live DSA. Write it only if you are ready to solve on paper.
- Team projects with no “I”. Say what you built and decided; the project deep dive will ask anyway.
- Marks that differ from the form. Use one figure everywhere, in the format the form asks for.
- Broken links. Interviewers do open portfolios. A dead GitHub link reads worse than none.
- Paying for referrals. Infosys says it never charges fees and recruits from @infosys.com addresses. Anyone selling a “direct Infosys shortlist” is not Infosys.
Infosys hiring for the 2027 batch: what we know
Infosys’s HackWithInfy 2026 page invites engineering students graduating in 2027. Its qualifiers ran in March and April 2026 and the Grand Finale is listed for November 2026. The top three teams win USD 3,300, 1,650 and 1,100. Infosys lists pre-placement interviews for SP and other specialised roles, internships and mentorship as outcomes. For regular SE drives, Infosys does not publish a public calendar; watch your college placement cell and the application portal. For fresher-hiring volume, the best official signal is the Q4 FY26 earnings call: a similar number of freshers to FY26’s 20,000-plus is expected in FY27.
If you are also sitting TCS’s NQT, our TCS NQT resume format guide covers how TCS uses the resume, which is quite different: TCS shortlists on the test and collects the CV afterwards.
Is there an official Infosys resume format for freshers?
No. Infosys’s public careers pages publish no resume template or format. Use a clean one-page, single-column PDF with education, skills, 2–3 projects, coding profile and certifications, and follow any instructions on the application screen.
What should a Systems Engineer resume for Infosys include?
Exact education details, a short skills section, one or two projects you can explain simply, and any internship. 2026 SE interviews were reported to be 10–15 minutes and focused on communication, your internship and a brief project discussion.
How is a DSE or Specialist Programmer resume different?
Lead with depth: one stack you know well, a project built on it end to end, and coding ratings or HackWithInfy results. DSE and SP interviewers in 2026 asked about every technology and design decision on the resume.
What is the Infosys Systems Engineer salary for freshers?
Infosys does not publish it on its careers pages. A 2026 candidate report and college placement notices state ₹3.6 LPA for Systems Engineer. DSE and SP pay more; confirm the figure in your own offer communication.
Does HackWithInfy help my Infosys resume?
Yes. Infosys says HackWithInfy participants can get pre-placement interviews for Specialist Programmer and other specialised roles. The page itself notes that winning is good for your resume. List the round you reached and your rank.
Should I put CGPA or percentage on my Infosys resume?
Write it the way your university awards it, and use the same figure in the application form. If the form asks for a percentage, use your university’s official conversion and keep it consistent everywhere.
How do I know an Infosys offer or interview is genuine?
Infosys says it never charges fees, holds at least one interview, never interviews on instant-messaging apps and writes from @infosys.com addresses. For Infosys India, its recruitment-fraud page links a validation tool.
